USD $500 Funeral Benefit
Every ZIBAWU member in good standing is entitled to a USD $500 funeral benefit when:
- A member passes away
- A member's spouse passes away
- A member's child passes away
- A member's parent passes away
This benefit helps cover funeral expenses and provides critical financial relief during bereavement.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the funeral assistance benefit:
Must be a registered ZIBAWU member in good standing
Membership dues must be up to date
Deceased must be an immediate family member (member, spouse, child, or parent)
Death must be reported within 30 days
Required documentation must be submitted
How to Claim
Step 1:
Notify ZIBAWU
Contact the union office immediately to report the death and initiate a claim.
Step 2:
Complete Claim Form
Fill out the funeral assistance claim form provided by ZIBAWU.
Step 3:
Submit Documentation
Provide all required documents (see below) to the union office.
Step 4:
Claim Processing
ZIBAWU reviews the claim and processes payment within the stated timeframe.
Step 5:
Receive Payment
Benefit is paid directly to the member or nominated beneficiary.

Required Documentation
To process your claim, please submit:
- Completed funeral assistance claim form
- Certified copy of death certificate
- Member's ID and proof of membership
- Proof of relationship to deceased (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.)
- Member's bank details for payment
- Any additional documents requested by ZIBAWU
Processing Time
ZIBAWU understands the urgency of funeral expenses. We strive to process claims:
- Within 5-7 business days of receiving complete documentation
- Faster processing for urgent cases when possible
- Payment via direct bank transfer for quick access
Terms and Conditions
- Benefit is USD $500 per qualifying death
- Only immediate family members qualify (member, spouse, child, parent)
- Member must be in good standing with dues paid up to date
- Death must be reported within 30 days
- False claims or fraudulent documentation will result in membership suspension
- ZIBAWU reserves the right to verify claims
