ZIBAWU in the Community – Giving Back, Building Together
Beyond the workplace, ZIBAWU remains committed to uplifting communities, supporting the less privileged, and empowering future generations across Zimbabwe.
At the Zimbabwe Banks and Allied Workers Union (ZIBAWU), we believe in the spirit of solidarity not only within the workplace but also within our communities. Guided by compassion and social justice, we extend our support to the lessprivileged, elderly, and sick, and help deserving students access tertiary education.
Our initiatives are largely spearheaded by the Women and Young Workers structures, who continue to lead with empathy, inclusion, and purpose.

Community Support
ZIBAWU is dedicated to improving the well-being of vulnerable groups through acts of care and solidarity.
Our community support initiatives include:
- Donations to the less privileged, elderly, and the sick
- Provision of essential goods to disadvantaged households
- Community engagement and outreach led by the Women and Young Workers structures
Education Assistance
We believe that education transforms lives and builds the foundation for a stronger future.
Our education support initiatives include:
- Payment of school fees for underprivileged tertiary students
- Educational support for promising learners from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Advocacy for equal access to education
Gender Equality & Women Empowerment
ZIBAWU continues to champion gender equity and women’s empowerment across workplaces and communities through:
- Campaigns against gender-based violence and harassment
- Support for women’s leadership and participation in union structures
- Gender awareness and empowerment training programs
Environmental Sustainability
We remain conscious of our responsibility towards protecting the environment.
Our environmental initiatives include:
- Environmental awareness and sustainability campaigns
- Tree planting and green workplace practices
- Promoting environmentally responsible behaviour among members
